Another thing exercise does to help your body is combats health conditions and diseases. Exercising, no matter what your current weight is, makes the HDL or High- Density Lipoprotein, which is the cholesterol in your body that is good, increase. Also the unhealthy triglycerides decrease when you exercise. These things help the blood run more smooth and in turn, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. Exercise also helps reduce heart disease, asthma, diabetes, and many other diseases found in the body. (mayoclinic.com)

Transcript of Exercise: Persuasive Speech
Want to be sharper at work? Feel less tired at home? Spend some quality time with your spouse? How about enjoying a cookie without guilt?
In this speech, I discussed the problems caused by lack of exercise, how you can become active, and what benefits you will reap from being active.
In this speech, I will discuss why working out is essential, what you can do to become more active, and why being active will benefit you.
Weight-gain is caused by taking in more calories than you expend. To lose one pound, a person must burn 3,500 calories more than are consumed (500 calories per day over the course of a week). For example, reducing calories by 300 per day and increasing daily activity to burn off an additional 200 calories should result in a weight loss of one pound per week.
Lack of exercise causes two major problems:
obesity and stress.
Start slowly and incorporate exercise in your daily life:
I’m asking you, my audience, to go out and get healthy. You can do it for me or do it for your loved ones, but most importantly, you need to do it for yourself. Go exercise.
I have maintained a strict fitness regimen for many years and my mother used to be a trainer.
If you answered "yes" to any or all of these questions, exercise is the answer.
Chances are, if you are tired of looking in the mirror every morning and hating what you see, you don’t exercise; if you find that you are constantly stressed over everything, you don’t exercise.
Lack of exercise can lead to low levels of Dopamine, Serotonin, and Endorphins. Dopamine, Serotonin, and Endorphins are naturally occurring chemicals in the human body. These chemicals mainly affect the emotional well being of a person.
Dopamine affects brain processors. These processors control movement and emotional responses to different stimulus, such as pleasure or pain. Having the exact right amount of dopamine plays a crucial part in our physical and emotional health. Serotonin is a hormone neurotransmitter. It acts as a chemical messenger that sends signals from one nerve to another. Serotonin affects mental disorders like depression, mood swing, sleep patterns, and appetite. Endorphins produce feelings of euphoria and calmness in response to external stimuli like pain, excitement, and physical exertion
You can solve these problems by exercising.
According to experts, even 30 minutes of exercise a day is beneficial. You can start with 30 minutes and slowly increase your exercise time. Exercising becomes easier as the days go by.
You can incorporate exercise in your daily life by cycling, walking, taking the stairs, doing household chores etc.
Join a gym and find a workout buddy.
To get regular exercise, you can consider joining a gym where you can be guided properly by a coach.
When I interviewed my mom about her experiences as a trainer, she told me that many gyms have classes and programs specifically for beginners or those that have "taken a break" from their previously active life. Many of the members of her beginner's class continuously told her that they didn't realize how easy it was to get back in shape.
Exercising with a friend helps you to exercise regularly and it can also make your workout less boring. You and a friend can take a class that will help teach you techniques and exercises to use over and again. Zumba is a fantastic way to have fun and exercise. It works all parts of the body through fun dance moves and music.
Now that you know how easy it is to become active, let’s talk about the benefits you will receive.
“Training gives us an outlet for suppressed energies created by stress and thus tones the spirit just as exercise conditions the body.” Arnold Schwarzenegger
Not only does exercise improve your body, it helps your mental function. Exercise increases energy levels and increases serotonin in the brain, which leads to improved mental clarity.
It is clear that those who are active and who exercise are much more productive at work. Improved productivity not only makes you a better worker, it makes things better for everyone in the workplace. Companies with less wasted work hours and less sick time end up with lower health care costs -- and an improved bottom line.
Finding time for exercise is not hard. The key, is to use your time more wisely. Think about killing two birds with one stone: take your kids to the park or ride bikes together, go for a hike, take the kids swimming, or play hide-and-seek, tag, softball, or horseshoes in the backyard.
Forget the idea that you have to trudge to the gym and spend an hour or more doing a formal workout. Instead, you can work short spurts of physical activity into your day. "Everyone has 20 minutes. Everyone has 10 minutes to jump rope, and sometimes that's better than 20 minutes of walking or running" (Men's Health Magazine).
Exercising allows you to eat more. Pound for pound, muscle burns more calories at rest than body fat. So the more muscle you have, the higher your resting metabolic rate. You also burn more calories while you're actually exercising.
This means that "cheating" with a cookie once in a while isn't going to take you back to the beginning. You can't eat everything, but you can afford to enjoy some of the things you really like when you exercise regularly.
